Today we celebrate World Parkinson’s Day & National Biomechanics Day!
April 11th is World Parkinson’s Disease Day. Gait alterations can be highly disruptive to people with Parkinson’s Disease and may interfere with the ability to work, exercise, or engage in everyday activities. Gait variability parameter has been shown to be interesting in particular to evaluate Parkinson’s disease progression (Hausdorff et al. 2007). Discover how our easy-to-use Gait Analysis System has been used and validated on patients with Parkinson’s disease on our Science Page (Neurologic & Chronic” section).
The same date has been chosen to celebrate the National Biomechanics Day, a world-wide celebration of Biomechanics in its many forms for high school students and teachers. We wish you a good celebration of the breakthrough science of the 21st century: Biomechanics!
